about

After my third US tour of 2016, I took some time off, and went into the desert. I fell in love with Joshua Tree on my first visit last year. I've been waiting all year to get back to the vast expanses of nothingness, in the very middle of nowhere. Over ten days, I hiked through Red Rock Canyon, the Valley of Fire, and Indian Canyons. On the very top of Turtlehead Mountain, 2,000-some feet above the rest of the desert, it suddenly becomes very clear how small and insignificant you really are.
I enjoy that feeling, though. It reminds me that the world is a very big place, and there's a lot of exploring to do.
